Lavender Oil

Botanical Name- Lavandula angustifolia

Lavender oil has a sweet, floral aroma that is soothing and refreshing. Lavenders aroma is great for relaxing and winding down before bedtime; add to bath or diffuse to create a calming and comforting environment

Properties- Antidepressant, analgesic, antiseptic, cicatrizant, nervine, vulnerary, antispasmodic, deodorant, sedative.

Direction to Use

• Massage- Relaxing tight and sore muscles. Add 5 drops of Lavender oil per 10ml of base oil or carrier oil (coconut or til oil) and massage on affected part or full body massage.
• Bath- Excellent for aching muscles, relaxation, stress relief. Add 2-4 drops of lavender oil in one bucket warm water and take bath.
• Tissues/Handkerchief - Good for instant relief from flu, sinusitis and anxiety. Use 1-3 drops Lavender oil and inhale immediately as required.
• Steam Inhalation- Great for colds and flu or as part of a skin. Add 4-6 drops to a bowl of hot water. Place a towel over your head and breathe in the vapor. Keep eyes shut. Continue to breathe deeply for a few minutes, occasionally removing the towel and your head from the bowl.
• Room Freshener- For fresh and fragrant atmosphere add 2-4 drops on vaporizer. Also add to spray bottle 4 drops to 200ml water and spray. add few drops to water used for cleaning the floor, tables and counters.
• By Compress May soothe aches, sprains or swelling. add 1 drop for 100 ml cold or hot water. soak cloth in the water , squeeze it tightly and place over the affected area for 10 min. repeat the procedure 3-4 times. Use hot water for muscular aches and cold for sprains or headaches.
• Foot Bath- Great for tired feet, fatigue or sore/dry hands. Add 4-6 drops Lavender oil to a large bowl of warm water and soak for approx 10 minutes.

Caution-

• Not to be taken orally.
• Do not use essential oils for children age below one year.
• Reduce the number of essential oil drops to half or one fourth according to age in children below 12 Years.
• Never use essential oil directly. Always mix them with base or carrier oil.
• Avoid in pregnancy, lactation, infants, patients with epilepsy, asthma, heart problems, cancer, fever, allergy, infectious skin conditions, post operative period.
• Avoid contact with eyes, genital area, open wounds.
• Store in cool and dry place, away from sunlight, heat and children. Close the cap tightly and avoid contact with water.

• Hair For hair loss, dandruff, lice, fixing hair, for luster, injury to hair, hair wash, for making hair oil.
• Cold, flu, throat infection, sinusitis- massage, gargles.
• For skin- For Cleansing, moisturizing, tonning, soothing, nutrition ,relieving pain of boils, aches, piles, and prickly heat. for dry skin, cracks, wounds, insect bites, injury burns. Used in massage oil.
• Mind- Anxiety, stress , depression , hyperactive mind, general debility.
• For disinfecting and refreshing room , stationery, clothes.
• Joint pain, sprains, Muscle pain, spondylitis, swelling, leg cramps, massage and foot bath.
• Pets- To disinfecting skin, place.
• Headaches, Insomnia, migrain in massage bath, vaporizer.
• For disinfecting and refreshing room, clothes, stationery.
