Tea Tree Oil

Botanical Name- Melaleuca alternifolia

Tea tree oil is known for its topical antiseptic and anti-fungal treatment or infection-reducing benefits. It also has antibiotic properties and helps aid against aliments such as skin infections, rashes, burns, dandruff and much more.

Properties- Antiseptic, cicatrizant, deodorant, stimulant, antifungal, mental stimulant, antiviral, Immunostimulant.

Direction to Use

• Massage- Add 10 to 30 drops in 50 ml base or carrier oil (coconut, til or oil ) and massage on affected area or give full body massage.
• Bath- Add 2 to 4 drops in one bucket warm water and take bath.
• Room Freshener- For fresh and fragrant atmosphere add 2-4 drops on vaporizer. Also add to spray bottle 3-4 drops to 200ml water and spray. Add few drops to water used for cleaning the floor, tables and counters.
• By compress- May soothe aches, sprains or swelling. add 1 drop for 100 ml cold or hot water . soak cloth in the water , squeeze it tightly and place over the affected area for 10 min. repeat the procedure 3-4 times. Use hot water for muscular aches and cold for sprains or headaches.
• Tooth brush cleaner- Keep your toothbrush fresh and clean by applying a drop of Tea Tree Oil between uses. This helps ward off germs and bacteria to help it last longer.

Caution-

• Not to be taken orally.
• Do not use essential oils for children age below one year.
• Reduce the number of essential oil drops to half or one fourth according to age in children below 12 Years.
• Never use essential oil directly. Always mix them with base or carrier oil.
• Avoid in pregnancy, lactation, infants, patients with epilepsy, asthma, heart problems, cancer, fever, allergy, infectious skin conditions, post operative period.
• Avoid contact with eyes, genital area, open wounds.
• Store in cool and dry place, away from sunlight, heat and children. Close the cap tightly And avoid contact with water.

USES

• Hair- For dandruff-Add 20 drops of oil in aloe vera liquid 20 ml then apply and wash after 30 min.
• For Cold, cough, flu, bronchitis- Use inhalation method.
• Skin- for cleansing add 20 drops of tea tree oil in aloe vera gel or cucumber gel 100 gm , add 5 ml wheat germ oil . In acne, Antiseptic to wash wound, hands, face wash add 2 drops in 500 ml water.
• Vaginal thrush, itching-in sitz bath, discharge.
• For disinfecting clothes- add 15-20 drops in half bucket of water and soak clothes for 30 min. and squeeze and dry.
• To boost immune system- add in bath water.
• For disinfecting floor, table, kitchen platform, parlor table. add 15-20 drops in 1 liter of wiping water.
• Helps heal and soothe sunburns.
• Relieves itchiness from rashes as well as helps reduce rashes.
• Can be used as an all-purpose cleaner: Fill a spray bottle with 1-2 tsp. of tea tree oil and the rest of the bottle with water.
• Helps to prevent lice naturally; just add a few drops to your shampoo.
