Salient Features of our Direct Dyes :-
* Give fastness properties without after treatments
* By after treatments with copper compounds, the fastness to light can be improved in the case of sum direct dyes
* The fastness to light varies from very poor (class I) to out standing (class VIII)
* All direct dyes contain one or more sulphonic group in the form of sodium salt to impart water solubility and are AZO dyes
* Most of direct dyes, contain two or three AZO groups
* These are one of the most important groups of dyes due to its simplicity of application, availability in multiple shades and hues in a single class and its comparative cheapness
