Behaviour and Effects
Deolink MX is an alternative to mercaptosilanes which often cannot be used because of their unpleasant smell. The mercaptosilane present in Deolink MX is set free from the carrier during the mixing process. Because of its bifunctionallity it forms a chemical bond between the rubber molecule and the silica filler at cure temperature.

Application
Deolink MX is best dosed into the internal mixer together with the filler at elevated temperatures of about 120 - 160 ^oC to improve the physical properties of compounds with white fillers crosslinked by sulphur.The incorporation in a PE-wax enables an optimal protection of the active silane against humidity.

Composition : Bis(3 - trithoxysilylproplyl)tetrasulfane (TESPT), 50 % i EVA/wax carrier

Behaviour and Effects
Due to its bifunctionality Deolink TESPT links through the tetrasulfane group to the rubber molecule and through the ethoxy group to the silanol groups of the filler. The chemical bond between polymer and filler improves the physical properties of the vulcanizate.

Application
Deolink TESPT is used to improve tensile strength, modulus an abrasion of the vulcanizates from all commmonly used elastomers. Deolink TESPT should be dosed into the internal mixer together with the filler. Best results are obtained at elevated temperatures at about 120-140 ^oC. Mainly for compounds crosslinked by suplhur. Due to the incorporation into an EVA-wax-matrix the silane is optimally protected against moisture attack.

Deolink VH forms a chemical bond between the rubber molecule and the silica filler. In Deolink VH the active silane is protected against moisture attack by the polymer-wax matrix. The pellet shape allows fast weighing and safe and easy handling.In contrast to Deolink Vinyl, which can develop methoxyethanol by hydrolysis form the active substance, Deolink VH does not form any methoxyethanol.

Application:
Deolink VH is used to improve the physical properties of peroxide cured compounds like cable covering, as it acts as a coupling agent between rubber and silica or other filler containing hydroxyl groups.

Deolink Vinyl forms a chemical bond between the rubber molecule and the silica filler. The methoxyethanol which is formed owing to the reaction evaporates during the mixing and vulcanisation process. In Deolink Vinyl the active silane is protected against moisture attack by the wax polymer matrix. The pellet shape allows fast weighing and safe and easy handling.

Application
Deolink Vinyl is used to improve the physical properties of peroxide cured compounds like cable covering, as it acts as a coupling agent between rubber and silica or other filler containing hydroxyl groups. Compared to compounds without silanes the electrical properties are improved by Deolink Vinyl.
