Working principle

Unlike a suction (siphon) blasting machine, a pressure blasting machine stores the abrasive in a pressurized vessel (blast pot). When compressed air is supplied, both the air and abrasive are forced together through the blast hose, producing a faster and more powerful blast.

Step-by-step operation

1. 
   Load the abrasive

     Fill the pressure pot with abrasive media such as steel grit, steel shot, aluminum oxide, glass beads, or garnet.

   Place the workpiece
   
   
   
   • 
     Open the cabinet door and place the component inside.
     
   
   
   • 
     Close and seal the cabinet to prevent abrasive leakage.
     
   
   
   
   


3. 
   Pressurize the blast pot
   
   
   
   • 
     An air compressor supplies compressed air (typically 58 bar or 70120 psi).
     
   
   
   • 
     The pressure pot is sealed and pressurized.

   Blast the surface
   
   
   
   • 
     The operator presses the foot pedal or trigger.
     
   
   
   • 
     Air carries the abrasive from the pressure pot through the blast hose to the nozzle.
     
   
   
   • 
     The high-speed abrasive impacts the workpiece, removing rust, paint, scale, burrs, or contaminants.
     
   
   
   
   


5. 
   Recover the abrasive
   
   
   
   • 
     Used abrasive falls to the bottom of the cabinet.
     
   
   
   • 
     A recovery system collects it.
     
   
   
   • 
     Dust is removed by a dust collector.
     
   
   
   • 
     Reusable abrasive is returned to the pressure pot or storage hopper.
     
   
   
   
   


6. 
   Finish

     Release the pedal to stop blasting.
     
   
   
   • 
     Open the cabinet and remove the cleaned component.
