Shot busting machines are generally used to take away the roughness and scars from the building and mechanical structures. The abrasive materials are thrown out with the help of a rotating impeller from the surface of a workpiece. These machines are available in compact sizes with a high cleaning capacity. They can easily remove any type of abrasives from the inner passages of a building, metal and machines. It is mainly used in the mechanical industries for the cleaning of bridges, steel structures, glass, pipes and other elements. The shot blast machines are powered by diesel air compressor that produces a large volume of high air pressure that helps in cleaning of abrasive materials. The other main components of a blasting machine are a shot blaster gun, blast booth or cabinet and a hopper that passes the shot to the gun.
Types of Shot Blasting Machines and their Specifications:
Tumblast Type Machine: The machine cleans the workpiece from all sides and the breaking of all sharp edges is done in an excellent manner. Hence, it is best to use for the cleaning of thin walls and machined components.
a) 20”x27”. b) 27”36”.
Tumbling Barrel Type Machine: This type of blasting machines occupies less space and are more suitable to use in the smaller areas. It consists of a barrel that comes in varied sizes and used for the cleaning of small foundries, castings, etc.
a) Rotary Barrel. b) Tumblast 20”x27”.
Swing Table Type: These machines are highly useful components that can be used for the cleaning of abrasives. It comes with a table that can be availed in different sizes. Any component can be loaded on the machine with help of lifting mechanism or either by hands, which is not possible in the tumbling type machines.
