| सामग्रियां | Viraday is an antiretroviral tablet used in the treatment of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV-1) infection. Manufactured by Cipla Ltd., it is a fixed-dose combination of three antiviral medicines. The medication is also a generic version of the brand-name drug Atripla. Active ingredients: Efavirenz (600 mg): A non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NNRTI). Emtricitabine (200 mg): A nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NRTI). Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate (300 mg): An NRTI. Mechanism of action Viraday works by inhibiting the reverse transcriptase enzyme, which the HIV virus needs to replicate. By stopping the virus from multiplying, the medication reduces the amount of HIV in the body, which helps strengthen the immune system and lowers the risk of HIV-related complications. Important facts Not a cure: Viraday does not cure HIV or AIDS, and it does not prevent the transmission of HIV to others. Improves quality of life: The medication helps manage the infection, controls the virus, and improves the overall health and quality of life for individuals with HIV. Prescription only: Viraday is available by prescription only and should not be taken without a doctor's consultation. Usage guidelines Dosage: The typical dosage is one tablet taken once daily on an empty stomach, preferably at bedtime to minimize certain side effects. Adherence is crucial: Consistency in taking the medication at the same time each day is critical to its effectiveness and to reduce the risk of the virus developing resistance to the drugs. Not for children under 12: The tablet is not recommended for children weighing less than 40 kg or under 12 years of age. Common side effects While side effects are generally mild and temporary, consult your doctor if they persist or worsen. Organ and bone health: Viraday may affect the liver, kidneys, and bone mineral density, especially with long-term use. Your doctor may need to perform regular monitoring. Fat redistribution: The medication can cause a redistribution of body fat in some patients. Pregnancy and breastfeeding: The tablet is not safe for use during pregnancy.
