X-large Frame Taper Machine

For long travels and heavy-duty cutting capacity in a vertical-spindle machining center, Haas Automation offers the VS series: bed-style vertical machining centers with fully supported X-axis travels and large-scale production capabilities.

The Haas VS-3 is a 50-taper, geared-head vertical machining centers with xyz travels of 150" x 50" x 50" and a 30+1 side-mount tool changer. Because the table is supported along the entire X-axis travel, VS models have a part capacity of 10,000 lb. The 30-hp (peak) 7500-rpm Vector Drive spindle produces 450 ft-lb of torque at 500 rpm, more than enough power for heavy cuts in steel or cast iron. An X-axis linear scale comes standard on the VS-3 for maximum positioning accuracy.

Additional production-oriented features include a remote jog handle, automatic chip auger system, rigid tapping, user-definable second Home position, double-anchored ballscrews, direct-coupled servo motors and automatic lubrication. The user-friendly Haas control features advanced tool management, single-button features, 15-inch color LCD monitor and a USB port.
