CG Power Systems has developed the steep wave transformer based on Scandinavian specifications: the electrical stress on the insulation structure is held within acceptable limits by a more linear distribution of the impulse voltage through the winding. In other words, a simple design modification has resulted into a higher impulse voltage withstand capability.
