Chlor-alkali Pipe Header - Anolyte & Catholyte Headers, Viapal Resin System & Cpvc-frp/grp Build, 90â°c Heat Resistance, Leak-proof Spark Tested

Pipe Headers also called Separators in the Chlor-Alkali Membrane Cell plants are of 2 types :

* Anolyte Headers (Separators)

* Catholyte Headers (Separators)

Anolyte Header
These are the most important piece of equipment of a Chlor-Alkali plant apart from the Membrane cells. Chlorine generated in the Membrane cells flows into the Chlorine header along with NaCl brine at around 90 deg. C. These headers are manufactured by the band wound technique using Viapal resin system or alternatively using CPVC-FRP/GRP.

Depending on the Electrolyser, several nozzles are attached to the pipe and laminated with the same resin system. In case of CPVC-FRP Headers spark test is carried out for 100 % welding to ensure leak-proofness.

Catholyte Header

Like the Chlorine Headers, these are also the most important piece of equipment of a Chlor-Alkali plant apart from the Membrane cells. Hydrogen generated in the Membrane cells flows into the Hydrogen Header along with NaOH at around 90 deg. C. These headers are made up of PP-FRP and are manufactured by the band wound technique.
