PEROXIDE STABILIZER

In bleaching a textile material with hydrogen peroxide under alkaline conditions, suitably stabilized, considerable amount of hydrogen peroxide remains in the bath and the cloth may also retain some amount of hydrogen peroxide. When this fabric gods for dyeing, certain oxidizaable direct / reactive dyes may get destroyed by the residual peroxide in the fabric and lighter dyeings may be obtained. Furthermore, there is a wastage of hydrogen peroxide. In order to destroy the residual hydrogen peroxide in the bleach bath, PEROXIDE STABILIZER has been developed. When this is added to the bleach bath after working for some time and the bleaching continued, most of the residual hydrogen peroxide is destroyed by PEROXIDE STABILIZER.

Applications

PEROXIDE STABILIZER may be added to the bleach bath after bleaching for some time, in the concentration range of 2-2.5 gpl. Bleaching may be carried out for some more time and the bleached fabric processed as usual.PEROXIDE STABILIZER is suitable in continuous open width bleaching with hydrogen peroxide. PEROXIDE STABILIZER (2-3 gpl) may be added to the first washing tank following the peroxide tank.

PEROXIDE STABILIZER treated fabrics should be washed thoroughly, before dyeing.

PEROXIDE STABILIZER may also be used in jet / winch where 2 -3 gpl of the product may be added to the wash bath for quenching the residual peroxide.
