Milupa UCD products are defined protein supplements for use in the dietary management of Urea Cycle Disorders. Milupa UCD 1 and UCD 2 are mixtures of essential pure L-amino acids, enriched with L-cystine und L-tyrosine (only UCD 1), vitamins, minerals and trace elements. All Milupa UCD products are foods for special medical purposes and should not be used as a sole source of nutrition.

The daily amount of Milupa UCD products depends on age, body weight, protein requirements and individual metabolic condition. It must be regularly adjusted by a physician or dietician in line with the patienta s current metabolic needs.

Note: Milupa UCD 1 can be used in combination with Milupa basic-p, our protein-free special infant formula, to prepare a L-cystine- and L-tyrosine-enriched bottle feed for infants, which is based on essential amino acids.
