1.Dense fireclay bricks
Dense fireclay bricks are with lower porosity than traditional fireclay bricks.
In the chemical industry the qualities of the exceptionally dense Durrath HD45 with an open porosity as low as 2% are especially sought after.
2.acid resistant fireclay bricks
The bricks are resistant against many chemical attacks, especially as far as acid reacting flue gases and sulphur compounds are concerned a also below the dew point. This is the reason they are used in high stacks and acid resistant linings.
The high resistance against abrasion and chlorine allows advantageous use in linings of fluidised bed boilers and in pre-heaters of the cement industry when the raw materials or fuel for the process create special demands.
