TOPIC : Indo-Japan ties – scope for improvement

The recent visit of the Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has opened avenues for further strengthening of Indo-Japan ties. Both nations today have a bigger role to play in the global arena. Under such circumstances there is an urgent need for both countries to work together for a common goal – taking Asia to the heights of an economic revolution.

Japan today can contribute to India's deficient infrastructure. There is a need for a stronger and closer partnership in joint ventures and developing a market for sophisticated products.

India too needs to earn a reputation that it has matured from an aid receiver to that of an investment partner. Apart from that, India needs to look at certain areas that include a slow potbellied bureaucracy, trade unionism and poor infrastructure, that still remain deterrents to the nation’s progress story.

Even though Japan has its reservations about the Indo-US nuclear deal, the two countries can cooperate in research and development of alternative energies. Moreover, bilateral trade needs to pick up from its $ 7 billion per annum to about $ 20 billion. Although a free trade agreement seems a Utopian now, nevertheless, it can be inked if both nations play their parts.

The need of the hour is to create an atmosphere where both nations can work together for a common objective of a economically stronger Asia.

Good to increase business with Japan. But the Nuclear deal is a death blow for Indian economy, do we need the nuclear power at the rate of Rs. 5.50 per unit, where as our indigenous built reactors are costing us Rs. 3.50 per unit.

Good Luck India, you deserve This. I sincerely wish India all the best of Prosperity in it's forthcoming development, which will not be a slow process, but will come as a Tsunami Wave of Business Boom and an Opportunity that only comes Once, there is no second chance.

Therefore, I wish and Pray that the old structures of Colonial Style Remnants of bureaucracy be Buried, where it will not be able to get up Again RIP. This is important because, when the Foreign Investors do come into India, the last thing they wish to see is Bribery & Corruption Inc.

Also, it is important that the Mumbai Airport gets a Good Clean-Up, because truly it Stinks with Filth, please don't get me wrong, but this is a Reality, the Main Gateway to India is a Big Let Down, besides other areas of Cleaning Up.

Most important of all, it will be the Biggest Blunder for India, when she enjoys the Fruits of Prosperity and the Ordinary People are being Ignored to eat the Crumbs of the leftovers, if this happens....Say Goodbye to India's Deceptive Prosperity.

May All the People of India taste the Fruits of Prosperity.

Good Luck, May God Guide India.

Gentlemen,

Much has been said earlier about Indo-Japan ties. There is so much to learn and to do before such ties are thought of. My experience and learning with Industrialists and workforce of this country is very positive and puts forth only one aspect first to be improved "Attitude". The people of our country are much more intelligent and hardworking than in Japan, but it is the attitude towards everything that pulls us down. Total dedication and the perseverance shown by Japanese is a subject of marvel. They don't rush into decisions, highest regard to customer, highest regard to customers commitments, information system, bureaucracy, good power availability, adherence to work culture, a no-nonsense attitude.

There is much to learn and to be imbibed by our countrymen, and Japanese look not towards the size of the collaborator, but the work culture.

There is scope for large scale improvement if we understand our partner in progress better, else, only a chosen few, with global presence and influence will benefit.

They know how to treat a customer, and we are still to learn - appalling service !
Warm regards.

It is true Japanese have made lot of progress. In India this is not possible as everybody [majority] wants to become RICH overnight and this is not possible by just hardworking and selflessness hence people are adopting all kinds of methods to make money. Their role models are bureaucrats & politicians. Even if some of our young generation wants to do their part of activity without selfishness they will not be allowed by the same breed of bureaucrats & politicians.
