V-Belt a They are the oldest sections, also known as conventional belt. They are manufactured as per IS-2494 and their length is designated as inside length in inches. These belts consist of Z, A, B, C, D, E Sections.
Wedge Belt- These belts are manufactured as per BS-3790 and their length is designated as pitch length in millimeter. These belts mainly consist of SPZ, SPA, SPB, and SPC Sections.
Narrow Belt a These belts are called import substitute belts and consist of 3V,5V & 8V sections. They are manufactured as per RMA-IP-22. Their length is designated as size/10+out side length in inches.
Eg:- 3V 800, so 80 is out side length in inches.
Hexagonal Belt : Hexagonal Belts are more effective where clockwise and anti-clockwise power transmission is required on the same machine. Eg. Rice Mills.
These belts mainly consist of AA,BB& CC sections. These belts are manufactured as per ISO-5289.
Harvester (Vari-Speed) Belt : These Belts are heavy duty belts and mainly used on Harvester combines under severe adverse conditions.
They are mainly consist of 36,45 & 50 sections.
Banded Belt: These belts are used on the drive where there is pulsating & severe shock load, V-Flat drive and Vertical shaft drive. These Belts consist of V-Belts joined together across their top surface by a reinforced Tie-band. The normal Belts used on pulsating shock load may result in Belt wiping, turning over or twisting.
