TPV (thermoplastic vulcanizate) is also known as elastomeric alloys (EA). In a reactive compounding process, the elastomer is completely cured. This dynamic vulcanization process in TPV production generates the webbed network in the elastomer domain while still retaining melt- processing capabilities. TPV consists of micron size cross-linked elastomer particles dispersed throughout a continuous matrix of thermoplastic material.
