Electronic Tearing Resistance Tester
(Elmendorf Type Interchangeable Pendulum)
The internal tearing resistance is the mean force required to continue the tearing of an initial cut in a single sheet of paper.
An Initial cut is made in a set of four test pieces which are then torn through a given distance. The work done in tearing the test pieces is measured as the loss in potential energy of a pendulum.
The equipment is designed for measuring the resistance against tearing of paper, board, plastic films and other similar materials. The test is performed according to Elmendorf Principle.

Pneumatic clamping and pendulum release gives stable, accurate and reproducible results stable and accurate regardless of operator

Calculations, calibrations, internal tests, zero setting, pendulum release and presentation of results are all handled by the built in Microprocessor.

Easily interchangeable pendulums, one pendulum A (Light), B (Medium) or C (Heavy) according to table is included as per order. Each pendulum is delivered with one check weights.

Easy to calibrate using the dead weights.

The results are presented as the individual tearing resistance, tearing index and tear factor on an alpha numeric display
