Speedfam Single Sided Lapping Machine

The Speedfam Single Sided Lapping Machine are versatile precision machines designed to produce lap/polish flat surfaces within a flatness of 1 light band (0.3 micron) or less and surface finish of 0.02 Ra with absolute uniformity on almost all types of hard materials.

Working Principle
Lap/polish plates revolves at slow speed.
The conditioning rings held in position on the machine plate also rotate freely.
The work pieces are kept freely inside conditioning rings with the surface to be lapped facing the machine plate.
The sharp abrasive particles which are continuously fed on the machine plate get charged in the plate and cuts the material from the surface of the work piece transferring the plates flatness on to the work piece surface. The Surface finish produced on the work piece depends upon abrasive particle size used in the process.
