The ram is of heavy cross section to resist cutting stresses. Alignment is preserved by well proportion VEE type bearings adequate means of lubrication are provided and flet wipers are fitted to protect the slides. The tool head is graduated and may be swiveled to any angle upto 90 degree. The Cross slide has long guides, with a deep frontal bearing ensuring adequate support for the table. The verticals screw is fitted with a ball thrusts bearing to obtain a light and easy movement. The Bull wheel is cut with helical teeth to prevent chattte and ensure a smooth even drive to the ram. A reliable stroke adjusting mechanism is provided in it.
