Mounted points are made from silicon carbide and aluminium oxide grains.
Mainly used for internal grinding job. these are called mounted points/ wheels since abrasive wheels are mounted on spindle / rod usually 6mm dia & 40 mm outer shank length.
Each grain of abrasives functions as microscopic single point cutting edge.
Mounted points with vitrified bond are ideal for both small jobs shop applications and high volume foundry operations.
