Pgcoders - Absolute

Absolute shaft encoders ENA-8, ENA-9 are electrical transducers, the output of which represents absolute position of the shaft. It is in natural Grey, Binary or BCD format available upto 9 bits (512 steps per turn). Unlike Incremental encoders, each step is exclusive; the digitally defined shaft position, which is not affected by power outage.

Ranges above 9 bits are complemented by German make single & Multi turn absolute encoders. These are available upto 17 bits in single turn and maximum 17 x 12 bit Multi turn encoders in various versions.

Used extensively in automation industry and robotics where mechanical position is to be retained regardless of noise or power outage.
