An Introduction An Appalam is a disc-shaped, thin and crispy food that was originated in southern part of Indian subcontinent. To prepare papadum, dough is made with flour of peeled black gram, which is further given a thin round shape, then dried and fried before eating. This snack has been on the mouth of almost every Indian by the name of Papad.
