Kitasamycin Tartrate

Kitasamycin Tartrate is a type of macrolide antibiotic. Its action mode is the inhibition of protein synthesis at the bacterial ribosomal 50s sub-unit level by blockading transpetidase and the displacment of mRNA. It has strong antibacterial effect against gram-positive bacteria such as staphylococcus aureus, pneumococcus, streptococci, anthrax bacillus, swine erysipelothrix, listeria, clostridium putrificum, clostridium chauvoe. Sensitive gram-negative bacteria include H.influenzae, neisseria meningitides, brucella, pasteurella, and so on. Insensitive ones are mainly enteric bacilli such as colibacillus and salmonella. In addition, Erythromycin thiocyanate also has good effect against campylobacter, some leptospira, mycoplasma, rickettsial and chlamydia.
Pharmacokinetics:
Orally administrated, kitasamycin tartrate is well absorbed, plasma concentration reaching its peak in 2 hours. The drug is widely distributed in main viscera, and the concentration in liver, lung, kidney and muscle are high, usually exceeding plasma concentration. Kitasamycin tartrate is mainly excreted through hepatobiliary system, mostly in bile and dejecta, and a little is excreted through kidney.
