An Isolation Transformer is a transformer used to transfer electrical power from a source of alternating current (AC) power to some equipment or device while isolating the powered device from the power source, usually for safety reasons.
Isolation Transformer is always connected between Utility Power and Load.
One end of the primary winding is connected to Live point and other one to Neutral.
At the same time one end of the Secondary winding is connected to Load and its other end is TIED to EARTH of the Premises.
The other end (Neutral) of Load is connected to EARTH of Secondary.
This is an Ideal Condition, and even if in case Terminal Points of primary are interchanged, Isolation Transformer will provide perfect output power with perfect Isolation, and no high voltage will generate between Load Neutral and Earth, eliminating any shock hazard.
