Hydroxy Progesterone Caproate Inj.

COMPOSITION:

Each ml. Contains:

Hydroxyprogesterone
caproate I.P. 250 mg.
Hydroxyprogesterone caproate I.P. 500 mg.
In
an oily base.

INDICATIONS:

MECHANISM
OF ACTION:

DOSAGE:

hreatened Abortion: 500
mg. 2-3 times weekly for several weeks with bed rest followed with 250
mg. until patient remains free of complaints.

Habitual Abortion: As
soon as pregnancy is confirmed, 250 mg. to 500 mg. at weekly intervals
during the initial months or in individual cases even longer.

CONTRAINDICATIONS:

A history of herpes pregnancy, previous
or existing liver tumors, cancer of breast, missed, incomplete or inevitable
abortions.

SIDE EFFECTS:

Acne, edema, weight gain & depression.
Alterations in liver functions also reported.

PRECAUTIONS:

Should
be used with caution in patients of heart/kidney disease, asthma,
epilepsy or other conditions affected with fluid retention.

ADVERSE REACTIONS:

Gastrointestinal complaints like nausea,
vomiting etc. have been reported.

PRESENTATION:

GYNONYS 250 mg.: 1 ampoule of 1ml.

GYNONYS 250 mg.: 1 ampoule of 2ml.

With a sterile unipack syringe and a 21G needle.
