Clomiphene Citrate

COMPOSITION:

Each uncoated tablet contains
Clomiphene Citrate B.P.

Available as 25
mg., 50 mg. & 100 mg.

PROPERTIES:

REJUN is a non-steroidal agent, which stimulates ovulation
in a high percentage of appropriately selected anovulatory women.

In males REJUN stimulates spermatogenesis.

REJUN has no androgenic or anti androgenic effects and
does not appear to interfere with pituitary and thyroid functions.

INDICATIONS:

IN FEMALE INFERTILITY:

REJUN induces ovulation in selected anovulatory women.
For induction of Ovulation, Amenorrhoea, Stein-Eventual Syndrome, Dysfunctional
Uterine bleeding with anovulatory cycles.

IN MALE INFERTILITY:

REJUN is useful in the treatment of Oligospermia and Asthenospermia.

Infertility, Hypogonadism
and other Androgen Deficiency Disorders.

MECHANISM
OF ACTION:

DIRECT ACTION:

• It has an estrogenic action as well as an anti-estrogenic action
  
  
• It acts on the hypothalamus directly as an anti-estrogen and helps
  in the release of GnRH (Gonadotropin Releasing Hormone)


• It acts on pituitary directly like estrogen and helps release of FSH
  (Follicle Stimulating Hormone)


• It acts on the ovary and helps maturation of Graafian follicle.


• It also helps in ovulation.

INDIRECT ACTION:

• The indirect action on pituitary is through GnRH, which
  stimulates pituitary to release FSH.
• The indirect action on ovary is through FSH of pituitary

DOSAGE:

IN FEMALES:

The recommended dosage is one tablet of REJUN
50 mg daily for 5 days starting on the 5th day of the menstrual cycle.
If ovulation does not appear to have occurred a second course of Rejun
100 mg daily (in a single dose) for 5 days should be given starting from
the fifth day of the next cycle.

The daily dose may be further increased by
50 mg. increments to a maximum of 200 mg. The duration of therapy should
not exceed 5 days and a maximum of 6 courses is recommended.

IN MALES:

25mg daily for 25 days with 5 days rest for 6 or more
months.
