Salient Features of Hot blast valve :-
a c Specially designed for isolation of STOVES from Hot Blast Main
a c Floating Gate Type, Water-cooled, Refractory lined design suitable up to temperature of 1200A C & pressure up to 5 bar.
a c Size from 300 mm to 1500 mm (inside refractory)
a c Specially designed water-cooling jackets ensure water is filled up all the time and complete cooling of valve body and gate. The flow path and velocity of water is designed to ensure no air pocket is formed and possibility of calcareous deposition is minimized.
a c Refractory lining is provided in such a way that heat loss to cooling water is minimized and critical parts of valve are not directly exposed to flow of hot gases.
a c Specially designed stuffing boxes ensure leak tightness to atmosphere at the same time maintains the Floating Gate feature of the valve.
a c Wedges can be provided to ensure leak tightness at low pressure.
a c Used as Hot Blast Valve, Burner Cut-off Valve and Back Draught Valve in Blast Furnace.
a c Also used for isolation of hot gases in other industries.
