The load-break switch uses SF6 gas for insulation and arc-extinction.

As the three phase contacts are isolated in three insulated bushings,the arc caused by making and breaking the contacts are fully confined to the insulated bushings,hence it is safe and reliable.
It is safe for the operator as the load-break switch and the earthing switch are installed in the same sealed enclosure.
The enclosure is made of stainless steel with strict seal performance test. It is maintenance free and reliable for long term operation.
There is a window at the front of the switch for observing the contacts. If a pressure gauge is installed,the pressure of SF6 can be observed and alarm can be provided.
