Proanthocyanidins (PAs), also known as condensed tannins, are naturally occurring polyphenolic bioflavonoids widely present in the bark of many trees,leaves of tea, fruits, nuts and seeds of many plants such as grape(Vitis vinifera L.), apple (Malus domestica Borkh.), and persimmon(Diospyros kaki), where they provide protection against predation.
