The freeze drying process is most ideal for removal of water from biological and inorganic materials which heat would otherwise damage. This process ensures preservation of structure and composition. It is a slow proves, consumes much more time than conventional drying methods and is mainly adopted for high value sensitive materials like Pharmaceuticals, Vaccines, Antibioties, Biological Specimens, Bacteria, Blood Fractions, Herbal Products etc.

Normally freeze drying takes place in three steps

• Pre-Freezing either in Deep Freezer or in a built-in Pre-freezer.
• Primary Drying by sublimation under vacuum through refrigerated trap (Condenser)
• Secondary Drying by desorption with Phosphorus Pentoxide (P2Os)
  

Condensing chamber is fabricated from nonmagnetic S.S. and balanced refrigerating evaporation coil surrounds the same to act as an efficient cooling trap. Surface temperature of the Cooling Trap will be -55C at an ambient of 20C under vacuum. Ice condensing capacity is standard models are 1.5 Kg to 3 Kg in different models within 24 hrs. Necessary arrangement is kept for hot air/gas defrostation of the condenser and subsequent drainage of water after each freeze drying operating cycle. The bulk drying chamber is made of non-magnetic S.S or see through acrylic sheet. Eco friendly CFC free refrigeration system consisting of Hermetically sealed oil cooled compressor with all necessary components and safety devices. The unique feature of the unit is that individual operations of Pre Freezing, Freezing & Freeze Drying of small samples in small vials, Petri dishes, trays and tubes can be done without any extra attachment. Double stage, direct drive, noiseless vacuum pump with connecting nozzle and hose is provided to obtain the maximum efficient freeze drying. The pump is provided with air/gas ballast device for separating of water vapour which may condensate in the oil. It is also fitted with Anti Suck Back device (Electro Magnetic Isolation Valve), sensitive Pirani Gauge, Electronic Vacuum Gauge with sensor to read and monitor the order of vacuum. Available in various size of Bulk Drying Chamber and Condensate Trap Capacity.
