Fish being one of the most favourite food items of Bengalis, fishery business have been being carried on in West Bengal from ancient time.Modern Life Group is engaged in fishery and other allied activities. Modern Life Group provides the opportunity to the rural youth to earn their livelihood by the fishery projects of the company where unemployed both educated and uneducated can earn. Our Fishery project is one of the largest sources of income for the people of the rural areas of West Bengal.To bridge the demand-supply gap, the company has, in co-ordination with the panchayats, launched an initiative to increase water areas, while imparting training on improved fishery to the fishermen. In our fishery project we are producing "Major carps" like rohu, katla, mrigel, "Exotic carps" like silver carp, grass carp, common carp and many other types of fishes including kai, magur and prawn. Our biggest fishery project is at Rohini, Ranjitpur Mouja, Paschim Medinipur on 10 Bigha water areas.As production of fish depends upon proper stocking and stock manipulation, we are giving special emphasis on that. We have plans to spread our fishery business all over India.
