Key Features
Explosives detector is based on molecular imprinting fluorescent polymers which become less fluorescent when they come contact with molecules emitted by explosive materials. This decrease is easily measured using a Photomultiplier Tube. Fluorescing Chromophores linked together in the polymer produces a dramatic amplication of the quenching effect, resulting in a lower limit of detection of 1 femtogram of explosives. Molecular imprinting units in the polymer make it show high selectivity.
