he EST -method allow to charecterise the Surface Properties of paper board by recording the dynamic properties of liquid absorption from the moment of Liquid contact. it can measure the absorobity of the paper with the liquids of the lowest to medium viscosity, as well as printability, gluability & suitability for coating. The printability can be detected on coated & non-coated paper board with test liquids like water, fountain solutions, mineral oil, gravure inks, flexographic printing inks, Inkjets inks in offset, Gravure printing, flexographic printing & ink jet. etc.

From EST - three results can be achieved.
1) It describes the roughness & porosity of the paper.
2) Describes the wettability of a paper.
3) Describes the water absorption of the paper.
