Physical Properties - Pale green to deep coloured, transparent to transcluent, hexagonal crystals having vitreous to resinous lusture. Hardness is 7.5-8.

Mode of Occurrence - It occurs in beryl bearing pegmatites and also found dispersed in mica schist associated with such pegmatites.

Uses - Mainly used as gem stone in jewelary.
