Control system for flexible packaging industries is never complete without a good system for coating and lamination machine. Waveform controls is the right choice for controls for high-speed coating and lamination machine. The tension controls for a lamination machine is equally critical as that of a printing machine. Improper tension control will cause curling effect and formation of wrinkles on the laminates. The fact that the final laminate is produced after one or two passes on the machine, it is very essential to control the relative tensions of the different substrates so that there is proper bonding and there are no curling effect.

Brief description of the system.

Controls designed for high end machines consist of pneumatic / powder brakes of required capacity for unwind stations. Other controls for unwind station such as web guiding, pneumatic / electrical core chucking controls are provided as per the design of the machine. The entire machine is divided into different tension zones and individual tension controls are provided in these zones. The different tension zones and their respective controls are as under.
