In this test the test specimen is first creased under a specified load for specified period of time and it then transferred to the angle measuring device where one of its ends is held in a spring loaded clamp while the other end is allowed to fall freely under its own weight. This clamped end is slowly rotated till the free end becomes vertical. The angle of deflection of the clamped end from the horizontal is read on a scale fixed to the ability of textiles to recover from creases is determined by measurement of its crease the moving clamp. This angle gives the measure of the crease recovery.
