Carbon Rotary Seals - Dual Spring-loaded Design, High-speed Capability Up To 50 M/s At 100 Bar Pressure

Carbon Rotary seals provide an axial seal for rotarating shafts at the point where they pass through a casting or into another chamber having different operating conditions. Sealing is achieved with 2 rings where their circular sealing faves are spring-loaded against each other. One ring is fixed to the shaft and rotates with it and the other is held stationery in the housing. When sealing against liquids, lubrication and conduction of frictional heat are through the medium being sealed; when sealing against gases, lubrication and cooling is by a closed circuit fluid. Dry running is possible at low rubbing speeds.
In general, sealing rings operate at peripheral of about 15 meters a second and at pressures of about 10 bar. However there are special designs where Carbon rings are running at speeds up to 50 meters a second and at pressure of more than 100 bar.
