Solution Properties
Seaweed ammonium hydrophilic colloids is soluble in water thus, forms a viscous solution.
Gel Properties
In Seaweed calcium ammonium, the process of ion exchange occurs very fast and it forms a gel formulation which is thermal irreversible in nature. Generated high G alginate gel is hard at the same time brittle in nature whereas high-M-alginate gel is slightly hard and flexible. Through the adjustment of two different intensities, an effective gel can be produced.
- It is used in canned products as a bottle cap sealing coating.
- It does not have flame retardant property thus, suitable for the purpose of food packaging paper coating and also utilized in waste paper incineration treatment.
