Filter Features:-

It consists of vessel with Dish ends and a perforated plate in between. A filter cloth is kept over the perforated plate. The entire vessel can be kept at desired temperature by having a limpet coil or jacket through which the heat transfer medium can be passed. The vessel can be made leak proof for vacuum or pressure services:-

A multi-purpose Agitator is the unique feature of this system. The agitator performs the following operations, by lowering it and by even direction of rotation.

1.Slurry contents can be kept fluidized till most of the mother liquor is filtered through.
2.When filtration is over, the cake built develops a crack causing upsets in the vacuum operations. This does not allow for the removal of the last quantity of mother liquor left. The agitator can be lowered and can be used to press the cake.
3.Washing of the cake can be performed in the same tank by re slurring the cake. Thus, the cake can be thoroughly washed, a feature, most uncommon in other filters.
