Idukki, a picture square hilly terrain of Kerala, is part of Western Ghats in India. Our forefathers were among the early settlers of Idukki. Our grandfather, Mr. Mathew Mundiyankal was a planter. When he passed away, our beloved grandmother, Mrs. Rosamma Mundiyankal carried forward the farming business. We are proud bearers of their legacy and named the family trading wing Rose Maria Species in honour of our grandmother, a resolute and determined woman. Last three generations of our family were planters, mainly of cardamom, pepper and spices, that are the speciality of Idukki. Being early settlers, the family could identify most suited locations for cardamom and other spices that are unique to Kerala. Our direct link and close liaison with other estates and farms gives us a privileged role in procuring top quality products at best rates. In the high ranges of Idukki , we follow unique and systematic farming practices, in harmony with nature, to suit the very special and sensitive climatic conditions prevailing in each growing area. The high range farmer never compromise on these aspects, that ensure world renowned spice products, that nobody else anywhere can duplicate. The blending of climate, soil, and farmers that follow traditional and time tested farming methods systematically, are Gods own gift to mankind. We, at RMS are proud of this rich heritage
