5 Kw Dc Brushless Generator - Soft Mag 49 Material, 28 V Dc, 8900-14114 Rpm | Samarium Cobalt Magnets, Autonomous Operation, Shaft Mounted Fan Cooling, Voltage Regulation, High Temperature Capable

5 kW DC Brushless Autonomous 3 stage Generator was developed to satisfy the unique load requirements of the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) for emergency operations. The generator is capable of delivering 5 kW power when driven from the engine pad of the LCA and is controlled through its Generator Control Unit (GCU). It delivers 28 V DC nominal voltage for a demanding speed range of 8900 to 14114 RPM.

The generator is designed using high energy Samarium Cobalt magnets for the Permanent Magnet Generator. High permeability Soft Mag 49 Cobalt Iron sheet. is used for magnetic circuit component. For operating at high temperatures, Kapton coated copper wires have been used and special bearings incorporated for high speed operation. Cooling of Generator is achieved by use of a specially designed shaft mounted fan.

The Generator Control Unit provides the Generating system with voltage regulation and protection functions.
