With growth of business across the globe, every manufacturer & exporter look towards finding new buyers in new markets. All wish to explore new territories but not sure of any method to do so. Below are few tips which can help:-

* You can get in touch with the commercial section of the prospective country's embassy based in your country. For example to export to Argentina,India companies can approach commercial section of Argentina Embassy based in India to get information about the country.
* Export Promotion Councils(EPC) can be a good source of information about the prospective countries. EPC's like Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts, Carpet Export promotion Council, Engineering Export promotion Council etc.
* You can also reach out to prospective countries bilateral Chamber of Commerce based in your country to get information about the trade. For ex- Anybody interested in selling to Germany, can get in touch with Indo German Chamber of Commerce for more information about trade in Germany.
* Contact Trade promotional organisation(s) in your country for information about the prospective country. For Ex- ITPO in India can be good source for information.
* Can try & locate if any trade promotional organisation(s) of prospective country is based in your country which can be a good source of Informtaion. For Ex:- A US buyer looking to buy/sell goods from India can approach ITPO office in USA.
* Browse B2B portals like www.tradeindia.com which has got buyers & sellers listings from across the globe.
* Find information on popular search engines like Yahoo, Google, MSN, Altavista etc.

As an exporter I visited ITPO office at New York & they provide me with info which I required about the market & which was satisfactory. The above topic talks of other avenues for information as well, which I out of my experience can say are fairly useful.

Editor, Mentioned tools appreciated but one tool which I guess many others will also agree that you have missed is Trade Fairs, which I believe play a significant role in finding new buyers & exploring new territories.

Trade Fair participation is a certainly a step towards finding new buyers & exploring new markets. With thousands of shows taking place globally companies worldwide are participating at various old & new shows to tap the inflow of buyers these shows are getting. But with so many shows taking place it becomes very difficult for exporters like us to identify the right show for us. Always while deciding the show to exhibit in their is a confusion in our minds
that should we exhibit at an established show in a developed country or a new show at a new prospective country which may or may not open doors for new business opportunities? Can anybody suggest tools to identify right show?

out my experience as a seller..the info we get from embassies or chambers of commerce.. not even a single person(buyer) replies to them...may be get so many new supplier mails that they just dump/junk them. but if you go in a buyer things might be different.

It is very difficult for us to attend the trade fairs, our products just enter into the world market, as a sales person, the way for me is only find the buyers in the search engine, or browse the B2B webs, the result is always not satisified, and i also want to give up if no customers quote for our proucts even i work very hard, i think it is my failure. But no other ways fit us to offer our products. i feel very confused !

It is difficulty for us to seach the customer fr the free website. even find the buyer and send the e-mail to them ,but most of time they have no reply.
so it is very unhappy for us.
