TOPIC : Whether the buyer is genuine?
Posted on 18 May 2008 at 12:22:00

I have an enquiry from an international buyer, he is interested in our products. He wants samples of our products. When I told him to pay for the freight charges, he refuses? Whether the buyer is genuine? Whether I have to send the samples on my cost of freight charges?

Yes, if buyer refused to pay freight charges than buyer is genuine otherwise he will pay courier charges and will keep your samples. You can check his website if he have or ask to him to send his website address to check whether he is genuine or not. fraud buyers don't have any website.

If buyer send you other company's website which is exactly the same name he using than you can compare with the contact number, companay's office address or contact person's name, e-mail etc ( every website having contact details to contacting the company), there is lots of things you can compare between.

Many of small businesses also do not maintain a website. does it mean that they are frauds. NOT exactly. and yes there are chances that samples are sought and kept with no response.

After all Business is to take a risk. Not all are frauds. within any business, a particular amount or percentage is added to the costing to be utilized for sampling. Without sampling, a business is not easy to grow. So an enterprise will have to face the risk.
