TOPIC : Overcoming export-phobia

There are several small business owners who have thought about exporting, but have managed to talk themselves out of it. Suppliers often think that other countries are too far too expensive, too confusing, or too demanding. The thought of having to deal with foreigners, learn about global regulations, etc. usually make them rethink about their decision to start an export-import business. That encompasses a fear of foreigners and bureaucratic hassles, anxiety about not getting paid from clients who are thousands of miles away, apprehension over different currencies, and denial over India's robust economy someday taking a nosedive.

But every supplier/ exporter who are in this business for long will agree that profits can rise if you overcome your fears. We need to understand that we are living in a global world. We also need to understand that since most of the world's market is outside our borders, they're missing out on a huge marketplace.

Today B2B portals provide with a ready-made clientèle. All you need to do is choose from them according to your needs. You need not even have to travel to all the corners of the world to hunt for buyers.

The bottom line is that export-phobia can be overcome with a little research and a willingness to make some changes. The results are worth the stretch. By thinking and careful planning, the risk of failure in exporting can be reduced to nil.

Plus exporting has an echo effect. If you sell abroad, you can easily sell even more in the domestic markets. Exporting gives you a stamp of credibility that none can deny.

Yes, fear comes naturally to anyone new to exporting. Fear of the unknown, or lack of information, is one of the reasons that many businesses that are doing well nationally are reluctant to engage in exporting.

But one must keep in mind that exporting is vital to the growth and prosperity of one's company...there's no denying this fact.

One must take the step. It is not possible that daily there are accidents on the road and due to fear of accident one stops going out from the house.

Uncertainty is there for any field of life but one who take the risk get the return. But I must say. one must be cautious as it is said that prevention is better then cure.

All the Best to the newbies,
