FICCI and Ministry of Textiles are jointly organising a Conference on "Indian Textiles Industry: Strategy for Growth & Competitiveness" on October 31 in New Delhi.

The venue of the conference which will start at 10.30 am is the Federation House in Tansen Marg.

Mr A K Singh, Secretary, Ministry of Textiles is scheduled to inaugurate the Conference.

It may be mentioned here that in the recently concluded Tex-Summit 2007, Prime Minister had announced a number of policy initiatives for the growth and development of Indian textiles sector.

Some of the policy initiatives announced by Prime Minister were Textiles Investment Regions for territorial Textiles Investment and Production Complexes (TTIPC); Skill development in textile sector; Market Development, Product Diversification and Brand Promotion for Indian textile industry.

In order to discuss and deliberate on these issues FICCI and Ministry of Textiles are jointly organising the Conference.
