To facilitate speedy growth of industry, trade and commerce, the State Government has set up Andhra Pradesh Trade Promotion Corporation (APTPC).
The new entity was launched formally recently by re-naming and restructuring AP State Trading Corporation on the basis of recommendation by a panel of experts from IIM, Bangalore.
APTPC, by investing Rs 100 crore over next three years, would act as a catalyst for the development of industry, trade and commerce besides agriculture and allied sector instead of being a direct player in the business.
A fillip to industry and trade would be given by setting up trade fair centres and convention facilities in all major cities and town of the State to enable the industry to organise exhibitions and trade fairs on a regular basis.
The corporation will also develop logistic hubs and bonded warehousing, cold storage facilities and air cargo complexes.
In addition, it would also participate in various global exhibitions from time to time to highlight industry growth in the State.
The paper products currently manufactured and marketed under Lepakshi Nandi brand will now be handled by APTPC, according to a release.
