India always looks at China as a competitor but I wish to know are we really on the same level of China to compete with them? No, I feel we are way behind them in most aspects. First we need to learn a lot from China, ientify grey areas & work on them. To do that we need to hv policies & plans so that we can reach to a level than we should treat them as our competitor.

India can certainly look towards learning various things from China which can help them in making India truly global. We Indians need to understand Chinese & their behaviour patterns i.e their dedication towards their work. When China initiated reforms which generated considerabale amount of employment opportunities in most sectors, during that period each and every worker in China worked with utmost dedication towards increased output by fully applying themselves & resources available at their disposal. That was the period & this kind of application has in real senses help Chinese in mastering the art of huge production output which India certainly need to learn. Govt. in China has worked actively towards making available desired infrastructure which is essential for the said growth. We have to look at such areas & see that how we can adopt such techniques to create a road map for India's success by learning from China & making India compete China in real terms.

This is Tsung Chen from China. I am doing export business, mostly for India market. So I have some very good friends from India. And I am very interesting in India's culture, food, people, everything. Actually,we are admiring that most of Indians can speak fluent English, so there are no barrier when you communciate with other English speaking people.

Both India & China are big countries in the World, our total population will be 1/3 of the World population. I think we should not be competitors, we should join together and make progress together.

Hi,

I am from a FMCG company and export Snack Food. Why we are not able to motivate our workmen to work hard ? We should understand from labours point of view. In most of the SME's we have workers underpaid. In fact we try to make profits not out of our products but out of labour's wages . How our workmen will concentrate when he is worried for his family. Our labour laws should be implemented strictly to safegaurd his interest.

Further we should be taught to identify ourselves as Indian not as caste or religion. Our education system can inculcate work ethics during education. This will help us to improve our performence at all levels.

Are you talking about labour laws more in favour of the workers?
SME will not be able to survie if labour laws are not changed in there favour.Workers being underpaid is a differnt issue need not be adressed in labour laws, agreed motivated workers give a good performance but no more laws please we hv enough on our plate to deal with

Hi,

I dont want new laws but I want the existing laws should be implented. If our workemen are motiveted , our productivity will go high that means our cost of production will come down and we will be more competent in the market. i am not advocating for labour but I am talking for motivation of our workers. Hope I have made a point and I invite more comments . I am comparing productivity of our workmen with chinese workers.

Chinese workers i dont think are motivated workers, they work because they have to and have no voice.Workers in China i am told normally live in kind of labour camps in the factories and hardly get leave.Comparing workers in India and China is like coparing apples with oranges

China reports 548 slave laborers freed

How can india compete with china where they still have slaves laborers .Chinese President Hu Jintao and other national leaders ordered an investigation into growing reports of widespread use of slave labor in rural brick kilns, an issue now dominating the national media.

Generally communication and response has improved with Chinese exporters. Most of the companies are putting their efforts to maintain qualiy, zero defect. To achieve this they are tightenting the processes and inspection at every stage of export product. This is my viwes, as parts were established successfully with chinese sources.Regarding cost of the product their overheads are tightened and labour involvement is more in every stage of production and rejection is controlled.

Indian industries will be competitive if they concentrate on waste elemination in all sectors in house and with their suppliers.Lean manufacturing to improve and match increased volumes.Supply chain should be focussed.
