Q. How would you differentiate a generator and a DC motor?
Answer
Unlike a generator we use electrical energy to power the input port and mechanical energy to power the output port. The block diagram below can help us visualize it. In the DC motor described above the supply voltage E and current I are applied to the electrical port or input port and the mechanical output.
