A Woven Wire Mesh is a semi-permeable barrier made up of connected strands of metal wires and other ductile materials with evenly spaced openings between them. A mesh is basically a web that has many attached or woven strands, used mainly for the purpose of segregation, refining and purification in various industries.

A mesh is a filtering medium, which works as an obstruction to unwanted particles in a fluid medium. When a fluid medium is made to pass through a neatly crimped and woven mesh, the unwanted particles are restrained, and clean fluid is collected on the other side. The mesh size depends upon the particulate size to be restrained.

MECHANISM:
Wire mesh weaving involves the interlacing of two sets of wires at right angles to each other: the warp and the weft. The warp wires are held taut and in parallel order, typically by means of a loom. The loom is warped with the warp wires passing through reeds. The warp threads are moved up or down by the harnesses creating a space called the shed. The weft thread is cut to size and fed manually or with the help of a shuttle.
