1. Overview of traveling block
The traveling block is a traveling system connecting the crown blocks with wire rope. It can greatly reduce the fast rope pull, in order to greatly reduce the load of boring winch in various operations of the well drilling.
2. Function and use requirements of traveling block
The traveling block is a movable pulley unit that moves back and forth vertically inside. Modern traveling blocks are provided with single shafts, and multiple pulleys are mounted on a shaft with a rolling bearing. The pulley rotates faster on the side of fast rope than that on the side of dead rope, so the pulleys are worn differently, and those closer to the fast rope are worn more seriously. To resist wear, the rope groove shall be subject to surface heat treatment. When the rope groove is worn seriously, the pulley shall be changed.
